Presentation given at the 2016 Conference
In the horse world there is a mystique around the word “feel.” People with “great feel” are referred to as horse whisperers. In talking about their training they will often say feel is “something you’re born with.” But is it? What is “feel?” Can it be defined? Can it be taught? Why is it important to have “great feel?” In this talk I’ll be exploring these questions as I share with you some practical methods for developing your own great feel. Whatever species you work with, these exercises will help sharpen your observation skills and hopefully it will take away some of the mystique around the word “feel.”
