Training in 3-D: Embracing duration, distance and distraction

Steve White
Presentation given at the 2017 Conference

Too often trainers think they’re training one element of fluency when in fact they are unwittingly manipulating multiple variables at the same time. This induces failure and confusion about how things so ran off the rails so far and so fast. And nowhere in the training process is this more likely to happen than when addressing the three Ds—Duration, Distance, and Distraction. This presentation will show you how to mindfully weave the three Ds into robust behaviors instead of letting their haphazard intertwining wreak havoc on your training.
